Name Resolution
Windows Sockets 2 includes provisions for standardizing the way applications
access and use the various network name resolution services. Windows Sockets 2
applications do not need to be aware of the widely differing interfaces
associated with name services such as DNS, NIS, X.500, SAP, and others. An introduction
to this topic and the details of the functions are currently located in Protocol-Independent Name Resolution.
